Oriented Strand Board (OSB 3) conditioned for structural applications in humid environments.
In comparison to FR MDF, Chipboard and other plywood alternatives, OSB/3 sacrifices a smooth surface for enhanced performance by using longer strands of wood.
The trade term OSB3 is denoted in BS EN 300 for ‘load-bearing boards for use in humid conditions’.
Humid does not mean wet, it means environments where boards are protected from external conditions but moisture content can increase because of warmth and humidity.
